Exciting Things To do in Las Vegas
The name Las Vegas is Spanish for ‘the meadows’ as once upon a time, it was abundant with wild grasses, plus there’s a natural desert spring, making it a key location for the journey westward. This was also instrumental when construction began in 1931 on the Hoover Dam, the same year Nevada legalized casino gambling. Vegas served as both a home to many workers and an opportunity to blow off steam and spend their hard-earned. Consequently, there’s much more history behind the self-proclaimed Entertainment Capital of the World than you probably realize.
The best things to do in Las Vegas run the gamut from seriously entertaining to awesomely educational. Looking for culture? Spend a day exploring Las Vegas’ best attractions and museums. Hungry? You’ve come to the right place because there are tons of excellent restaurants in Las Vegas that highlight the city’s rich and diverse culinary landscape, not to mention some of the world’s most amazing buffets. Take in a night of world-class entertainment or spend your time lazing in the sun at a glam resort pool. Vegas is fabulous for family, friends, or even a quality solo trip.
1. The Fountains of Bellagio
Standing on the sidewalk of congested Las Vegas Boulevard may seem strange in 115-degree heat. Still, once the music starts playing and the Bellagio Hotel and Casino fountains start shooting into the air, all that noise and commotion disappears.
It is estimated that more than 1,000 water fountains are located within Lake Bellagio, and each one dances in time with the music that the song is playing, whether it is a pop, Broadway, classical, or rock song. Among the most famous fountains in the world, the Dubai Fountain, considered the most significant performing fountain in the world, was designed by the same designers.
In 1998, the Fountains of Bellagio and the Bellagio resort were opened on the site of the former Dunes hotel-casino. A man-made lake fronts the resort where the shows take place. The Bellagio was designed by WET, a company that had never created such a large project. Casino owner Steve Wynn conceived the attraction. An estimated $40 million was spent on the fountain, one of the world’s most expensive fountains, when it was completed in 1995.

3. The Venetian Las Vegas
In Paradise, Nevada, United States, on the site of the old Sands Hotel, the Venetian Las Vegas is a luxury hotel and casino resort. In addition to the hotel tower’s 36 floors, it stood 145 meters (475 feet) tall and was designed by KlingStubbins.
The Venetian is operated by Apollo Global Management and owned by Vici Properties, a subsidiary of Vici Properties. As part of the Venetian resort complex, there is an adjacent hotel and conference center called the Palazzo, as well as the forthcoming MSG Sphere at The Venetian.
The Venetian-Palazzo complex is the world’s third-largest hotel with 4,049 rooms, 3,068 suites, and a 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2) casino. The Venetian’s standard suites (no standard rooms) are substantially more extensive than the typical Vegas suite-650 square feet above. There is no doubt that the sumptuously appointed suites were renovated in 2007 as a way to make them equal to those found at the Palazzos.
The Venezia Tower, a 12-story hotel atop the car park, has rooms similar to those in the original tower. Still, it also offers additional luxuries such as private elevators, complimentary newspaper deliveries, a secluded Italian-style pool garden, and access to the nursery. A drawing-room-style lounge is located on the tower’s top five floors, as well as special baths designed to provide guests with exclusivity.

5. Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam located in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, between Nevada and Arizona. Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated it on September 30, 1935, following its construction between 1931 and 1936.
A massive amount of effort was involved in the project’s construction, and over one hundred lives were lost. As a result, it was named Boulder Dam by the Roosevelt administration during its construction, but it was referred to as Hoover Dam in bills passed by Congress during its construction. The name Hoover Dam is derived from Herbert Hoover’s presidency. Congress restored the name Hoover Dam in 1947 after a long period.
A Great Depression-era landmark that dammed the Colorado River and created Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam looms large in Las Vegas history, and the 726-foot-high curving cement facade makes for a striking view, whether you see it on a guided tour, from a boat on Lake Mead, or a walking trail along the bridge. It took 5 years and 21,000 men to construct the mighty dam on the Colorado River, and it is worth stopping by to see the results of their labor, especially since it was built with the help of 21,000 men.
The official address for Hoover Dam is PO Box 60400, US Hwy 93, Boulder City, NV 89006
