1. National Atomic Testing Museum

During a snoop around the 8,000 square feet of the warehouse, located at the Nevada Test Site, you will find a vast collection of artifacts from the first nuclear tests of America at the Nevada Test Site, as well as documents that tell the story of America’s nuclear weapons testing program. 

Despite the museum’s small size, it houses an extensive collection of rare objects, including the first air-to-air missile, personal atomic weapons, and an extensive DVD collection of atomic test movies. The museum has more than 3500 rare items, including a large nuclear reactor used in developing the nuclear rocket.

2. Hollywood Cars Museum

The 30,000-square-foot museum features an impressive display of over 100 vehicles that have appeared in more than 100 films, TV shows, and videos. In addition, there is a collection of more than 2,000 photographs. There are many recognizable and unique cars in the Hollywood Car Museum’s collection, from old antique cars to the newest bullet-ridden cars that appear in the most recent “Green Hornet” movie. To name only a few, the collection includes five James Bond vehicles, an original Batmobile, and a bullet-ridden car from the newest “Green Hornet” movie. In addition, you will have the chance to see the cars and vehicles from the first Fast and Furious film and the “Robocop” cars from the second one.

3. Natural History Museum

There is no better place to discover the world’s wonders than Las Vegas Natural History Museum. The museum’s collections are fossil and archaeological finds from Nevada, Africa, and the desert and ocean.

In the museum’s International Wildlife Gallery, you can see bears, antelopes, big cats, and wild dogs up close and admire an impressive taxidermy collection. Lifesize sharks and fish models can be viewed up close at the Marine Life Gallery, as well as stingrays and sharks in a 3,000-gallon tank.

Among the only two sets of ancient Egyptian artifact replicas authorized by the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, Treasures of Egypt showcases one of only two in the world. An Ichthyosaur and Tyrannosaurus rex that once swam in Nevada’s waters are among the extensive prehistoric exhibits at the museum.

4. Nevada State Museum

If you’re looking for a unique museum experience, this is the place to go if you want to experience something different. Through a series of unique activities and exhibits, the Nevada State Museum will allow you to delve into the state’s natural and cultural history to gain a deeper understanding of the state’s natural heritage. 

There is also an extensive collection of Native American artifacts, pioneers, early settlers, and prehistoric animals that can be seen in the museum’s 13,000-square-foot permanent gallery, in addition to the fascinating stories about Native Americans, pioneers, and early settlers found throughout the history of Nevada.

5. Clark County Museum

This fascinating exhibit, housed in the Clark County Museum, shows how southern Nevada’s history has evolved from prehistoric times to the present day. The Clark County Museum is a state-of-the-art repository that preserves and collects over 60,000 items from Clark County, Nevada, a county that has the largest population in the state. Several treasured items are on display in the museum, spanning from the mid-1200s to the present day, including Native American basketry and beadwork, archeological findings, artworks, textiles and a variety of other objects, including medical and household items, as well as industrial and medical equipment.
